In order to provide services to as many seniors as possible and for the health and safety of both our seniors and our volunteers, we regretfully have some restrictions:
Our volunteers are available for up to 2 hours at a time.
Service requests are typically done by a single volunteer. Depending on the size, a project may take multiple requests to complete.
Assigned volunteers will coordinate with the seniors to determine a mutually convenient date & time to fulfil the service request.
If you are unsure if we can help with your request, please contact us.
We encourage seniors to think of us as friendly neighbors who can lend a hand but unfortunately, there will be times we cannot fill your request. If no volunteer is available, we will let you know in time for you to make other arrangements.
We are unable to transport wheelchairs.
We are unable to provide escorted transportation to therapy, lunch programs, classes, jobs, chemotherapy, dialysis, or anything that requires ongoing, regularly scheduled rides.
We are unable to provide services to seniors who have been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
We are unable to provide transportation to any kind of procedures in which incisions, sedation, or infusion are involved, as we are not licensed caregivers. Blood tests are fine.
We cannot provide services to seniors without a working answering machine or cell phone with voicemail capability, as the office and volunteers must be able to leave a message.
We are unable to lift more than 10 pounds - we cannot pick up appliances, pianos, furniture of any kind, flatscreen TVs, air conditioners of any size, and full 5-gallon paint buckets, as examples.
